MANAGE YOUR COURSES
THROUGH ONLINE@UT

Online@UT, powered by Blackboard, Inc., is the course management system selected by UT faculty in 1998 to help members of the university community enhance the learning environment and harness technology’s increasing power.
Value Added for Instructors and Students
Online@UT offers a fully integrated course management tool that allows instructors to create and deliver content without having to know Web design or Web development tools. They can also communicate with students, deliver surveys and exams, receive homework in digital form, maintain and distribute grades, and more, all within a secure web space.
Value Added for Organization Facilitators
In addition to course sites, Online@UT hosts sites for official campus organizations. Members of Online@UT “org sites” can broadcast announcements, participate in threaded discussions and chat rooms, exchange e-mail with fellow members, and post an organizational calendar. Organizations can share documents, archive meeting minutes, and provide links to relevant information. To obtain an Online@UT org site, email online@utk.edu.
Getting Started
Many people ask why we require a certification workshop to use Online@UT. The purpose of the workshop is to introduce users to Online@UT’s basic features, to identify and propose solutions for common problems before they arise, and to introduce users to features customized for the Knoxville campus. Upon completion of the workshop you will be able to upload documents, send e-mail, create an online quiz, and perform the other basic tasks necessary to get your Online@UT course off the ground and online. Once you have completed CMS 110, you are entitled to unlimited support with Online@UT from ITC.
Now What?
You have two options for certification: attend a two-hour face-to-face workshop or complete all the activities from the comfort of your office or home in our totally online CMS 110 workshop. Enroll now and reserve your seat!
No time for a workshop?
The ITC is happy to provide all faculty members with a one-semester Buddy-Pass. This allows you to get started with Online@UT immediately. To retain access the next semester, you must complete the CMS 110 workshop.
